You know when you get a killer craving for something but you’re missing the key ingredient? This week we felt like apple crisp but could not find a single apple in the house.
We remembered we had a jar of apple sauce tucked away and decided to throw what we had together and experiment. Luckily, it paid off!
This recipe is low in sugar and creates the perfect weekday dessert. It can be prepared in less than 5 minutes when you are pressed for time or short on fresh produce.

Makes: 6 portions
* 2 cups organic apple sauce (no sugar added)
* 1 cup regular or quinoa oats
* 3 tbs grass fed butter or ghee
* 1/4 cup coconut sugar
* 1/8 cup shredded coconut
* 1 tsp cinnamon
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 375F.
2️⃣ Line a medium ceramic baking dish with the apple sauce and smooth to cover the entire base.
3️⃣ Melt the butter until soft.
4️⃣ In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients with the melted butter until it binds.
5️⃣ Top the apple sauce with the mixed oats and bake in the oven for 20 minutes until golden brown.
